UTRECHT, 11 July 2007 – Strukton Bouw & Vastgoed will be cooperating with Ballast Nedam Bouw Special Projects and Hurks van der Linden to construct the new Jeroen Bosch Hospital in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The respective parties established the Bouwcombinatie Jeroen Bosch construction partnership especially for this project. The contract - involving a sum of more than € 117 million - was signed last week.
The new hospital complex will offer more than 700 beds and 16 operating theatres and will be able to accommodate around 600,000 outpatients a year. Once it has been taken into use, the new complex will replace all of the existing locations in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The new construction will be located where the Willem Alexander Hospital now stands on the Vlijmensweg. Including the current building, the Jeroen Bosch Hospital will offer a gross floor area of approximately 168,000 m². Of this total, 123,000 m² will be newly constructed, 19,000 m² renovated and 23,000 m² parking facility. This will make it one of the largest hospitals in the Netherlands.
Construction of the new Jeroen Bosch Hospital will start in autumn and is expected to be completed by 2011.
