 About us

Wagen Strukton

There’s a challenging assignment for the taking, but no suitable market party candidate can be found to execute the project. In that case, we’ll simply do it ourselves. This is exactly how the headquarters of Dutch Rail (NS) in Utrecht – nowadays fondly known as the ‘inkpot’ – were built and Strukton’s predecessor was founded back in 1918. And now, over 85 years later, Strukton still tackles the challenges of today’s market with the same level of enthusiasm and inventiveness.

Strukton provides total solutions in the field of infrastructure and accommodation with a view to offering end-users the opportunity to travel conveniently and enjoy comfortable accommodation: with purposes ranging from housing and work to relaxation and learning. And this invariably involves a quest to find the perfect balance of economic yield and sustainability.

Strukton is a collaborative partner capable of playing an active role in the entire process, from draft design up to and including the operational phase. This makes for long-term business relations. Strukton is therefore a prominent player in the field of concession-related projects and alliances, with terms of between 15 and 25 years.

Strukton comprises five operating companies, which jointly provide integrated services:

Strukton Integrale Projecten concentrates on the development, management and financing of PPP (public-private partnership) projects in the areas of accommodation, infrastructure, (light) rail, education and health care. Strukton Integrale Projecten utilises the combined knowledge and expertise of the Strukton group in both domestic and international partnerships. Its own specialist disciplines are project management, contract management and financial engineering.
Strukton Integrale Projecten is a leading player in the Dutch market for PPP concessions and has aspiration to strengthen Strukton’s position in this field throughout Europe.

Strukton Rail develops, installs and maintains rail systems, with the objective of rendering the railways ideally accessible, reliable, safe and quantifiable. This operating company’s fields of operation include rail infrastructure, rail stock, information systems, data acquisition, data management and consultancy.
Strukton Rail operates throughout Europe and has aspirations to develop into a truly European rail company, occupying leading positions as a full service provider in various deregulated European markets.

Strukton Civiel develops, designs, constructs and manages civil infrastructure projects from the initial design phase, up to and including their ultimate operation. Thanks to its business units and specialist disciplines, Strukton Civiel can provide tailor-made products for each and every link in the infrastructure chain.
Strukton Civiel’s ambition is to develop from a civil engineering firm to a civil infrastructure provider counted amongst the top three players in the Dutch market.

Strukton Bouw operates in all phases of the construction process, from initiation, development and realisation, up to and including building management and maintenance. The business unit adopts an integrated approach, which implies that the operational phase is taken into consideration at an early stage. This results in an above average price/quality ratio.
Strukton Bouw’s ambition is to utilise its architectural expertise to create a working and living environment in which people feel both at home and capable of performing well. This operating company has aspirations to secure a position amongst the top three players in the Dutch DBM (design, build & maintain) market.

Strukton Worksphere provides building-related technical systems and facility management, by adopting a life-cycle approach to accommodation projects. Systems and energy management play increasingly major roles in such projects.
Strukton Worksphere aspires to provide technical and facility management and maintenance in such a manner as to contribute towards a safe, efficient, sustainable and comfortable working and living environment, in which people feel comfortable and capable of achieving optimum performance on a daily basis. This operating company makes a significant contribution to PPP projects.
